Desert Missions - Ascension?? HELP ME!!!

Im in the desert at the mo doin the missions so i can get thru 2 ascension, but thers 1 thing buggin me... do i have 2 do the missions AND the bonuses to be able to, or just the missions, i will be sooooooo P****D off if i do just the missions and i have to do the bonuses or waste time gettin thru it again and again until i get the bonuses! HELP ME SOOOOOOOON!!! ASAP!!! PRONTO!!!! AS FAST AS U CAN!!! JUST BLOODY QUICK PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
